The New Haven County chapter of Holistic Moms Network is honored and blessed to host Dr. Bernie Seigel for its January 17 meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Milford Public Library. In Seigel’s What We Can Learn From Children’s Drawings presentation, he will be showing slides of drawings by children and talking about what a useful tool they can be for a parent to use.
Attendees are asked to bring pictures done with crayons by themselves and their family. Have your kids draw their home and family while you do the same plus a picture of yourself using all the colors you want on white paper. This monthly meeting of the HMN chapter will take place at the Milford Public Library, located at 57 New Haven Avenue in Milford, Connecticut.
Bernie Siegel, M.D., is an internationally recognized expert in the field of cancer treatment and holistic medicine. He is an American writer and retired pediatric surgeon who writes about the patient and the healing process relationship. He is well-known for his Love, Medicine and Miracles bestseller and numerous other books. In The Art of Healing, released in 2013, Siegel focuses on what is revealed in 60 illustrations by patients. And his newest title, Love, Animals & Miracles: Inspiring True Stories Celebrating the Healing Bond, offers humorous, heartfelt real-life stories that exemplify the healing and connections that animals offer us. Siegel has also been named one of the top 20 Spiritually Influential Living People on the Planet by the Watkins Review. Calling New Haven County home, he and his wife/coworker Bobbie have five children and eight grandchildren.
The mission of Holistic Moms Network, a nonprofit support and discussion network, is to connect parents who are interested in holistic health and green living. It welcomes people wherever they are on their own holistic path in an environment that does not judge. The New Haven County chapter follows the Holistic Moms Network’s drive to encourage parents to use their innate sense of what is best for their children and the Earth while learning more about healthcare and parenting options. Living healthy and living green is not an endpoint, but an ongoing journey.
The member chapter, open to the public, normally meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Woodruff Family YMCA, 631 Orange Avenue, Milford, Connecticut. Children are welcome.
