Event: Earth Day Puppet Show

April 20, 2016 @ 10:30 am

  • Join us for a short puppet show to celebrate Earth Day! $2 per child, free for adults. Call to make reservations at 612-339-2333. Get there at least 5 minutes before the show starts at 10:30am.

    About the show:
Set high in the treetop canopy of the Papua New Guinea rainforest. A tree kangaroo and her joey are joined by two whistling tree frogs, a leaf katydid, a tree python, a beautiful bird of paradise, and a little boy named Benoni. Together they interweave stories and fantastic musical sounds while searching for an enchanted flute in the glow worm cave of wonder!

    About the theater:
Designed specifically for young children, offering welcoming and engaging theater arts experiences. We believe that encouraging creativity involves drawing out children’s talent, valuing their ideas, and providing a creative climate. The stories, life-sized puppets, lively music, and set designs are all original. Our theater uses a special black lighting system that allows puppeteers dressed in black to “disappear”, while the puppet models and set designs glow, captivating the attention of the audience. Dancers and live actors intermix and interact with the puppets. The stories told by Imagination Theatre illustrate important messages about the value of creativity and imagination, diversity, kindness, and community. Performances stir and ignite the creativity of a young audience, and run approximately 20 to 30 minutes in length.
