Is your family prepared for an emergency? With the persistent threat of natural disasters such as earthquakes, flash flooding and fires, we as Californians need to consider how we can support our families when outside help is delayed or unavailable. Join us for our monthly meeting as we discuss family emergency plans, “go bags” and how to stock and store home caches of emergency supplies. Share your experiences and what works for your family as we pool knowledge and resources. By the end of this meeting, we hope that you have the tools to:
• Create a family disaster supply kit
• Develop a family preparedness plan
• Identify a local and regional meeting place
• Practice your plan with your family
If you already have a “go bag” prepared for you and/or a young child, please consider bringing it to share your example with others.
Children are always welcome to our monthly meetings. We just ask that you step outside for a moment if your child needs some time to move about and let out some sounds while our speaker is presenting.
