Scientist Eva Vanamee and Attorney Susan Lee will discuss the HPV vaccine mandate bills (S509 and A1822) that were introduced in NY as an effort to increase the uptake of this STD vaccine due to low voluntary rates. Two similar bills (A1528 and S2712) would allow children of any age to obtain vaccines for STDs (including for HPV, hepatitis B or any future STD vaccines in the pipeline) without parental knowledge or consent. Finally, bills S6017 and A8329 have been introduced, which would completely eliminate your parental rights to oppose the HPV or any other vaccine. Awareness of these bills vs our constitutional rights is an important issue.
