As mothers, much of our lives are given over to taking care of our children, our aging parents, managing family, etc. We lose track that we are also, individuals on our own unique and important journeys. The myth of Persephone, who goes underground (and inward) during the Fall and Winter months, inspires us to ‘go inward’ and look into ourselves for answers and healing. The ‘Hero’, in contrast, goes out into the world to have experiences in order to learn and heal. Both of these are good medicine.
This workshop will provide you with a framework with which to begin and continue your path to self-awareness, self-care and self-love. Persephone’s Hero uses the Medicine Wheel, which incorporates the elements, the directions, the seasons, the life cycles of the natural world, to connect you with all aspects of yourself: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Balancing our overwhelmingly human world, with the teachings of Mother Earth, will provide clarity, strength and guidance for living a full and deep life. By modeling the self love that comes with these insights, you teach your children that they can cultivate practices and attitudes that foster holistic health and authenticity for themselves.
