January 18, 2018 @ 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm

Learn what makes it the best choice! Good Habits Start Young! Learn the importance of forming healthy habits early.

Join Holistic Moms Network of Hillsborough County on Thursday, January 18 from 7:15pm to 9:30pm, at 1 Overlook Drive in Amherst, NH, for our January meeting. Special guest speaker, Dr. Jean Nordin-Evans, DDS, IBDM, ND, from Groton Wellness will facilitate a discussion on holistic dentistry, with an emphasis on children’s dental health.

This event is free and open to the public; babes in arms are always welcome; light refreshments will be served. Feel free to share this event with your network – friends, family, and co-workers are all welcome to attend.

Proper nutrition, brushing and flossing are essential to a lifetime of wellbeing, not just for your mouth, but in relation to your whole health and wellness. Among children, visiting the dentist is a kind of rite of passion, and not always a good one, too often creating phobias and anxiety in the process. Holistic Dentistry can help make your child’s dental care as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, laying the foundation for a lifetime of good health.

Just what is “holistic dentistry”? Also referred to as biologic dentistry, The Holistic Dental Network defines the field as: “an approach to Dentistry that promotes health and wellness instead of the treatment of disease. This approach to Dentistry encompasses both modern science and knowledge drawn from the worlds great traditions on natural healing…Holistic Dentistry acknowledges and deals with the mind, body, and spirit of the patient, not just his or her ‘teeth'”.

Dr. Nordin-Evans will discuss all of this, and answer questions like:

How Old Is The Right Age To Begin Dental Care?

What to Expect on the First Visit?

How does a gentle, holistic approach make a difference?

About our Special Guest Speaker, Jean M. Nordin-Evans, DDS, IBDM, ND – A Health-Focused General Dentist, Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine, Naturopathic Dentist

Jean Nordin-Evans, DDS, IBDM, ND grew up on a farm in Kansas and learned the core values of hard work, helping others in the community, and all-natural food. After completing dental school, Jean began her professional career at a dental practice in West Newton, MA where she met a like-minded dentist, business partner and future husband, Bob Evans, DMD. In April, 2004, Jean and Bob opened Groton Wellness, a leading center for holistic health care. Founded on the principles of holistic dental health, their vision expanded from a dental practice to include functional medicine, a detoxification spa, and an all-natural, farm-to-table café.

Dr. Nordin-Evans has a serious passion for learning and teaching. On top of her Doctorate of Dental Surgery, she is board certified as a Naturopathic Dentist and board certified in Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine.

Dr. Nordin-Evans has won many awards, including the Fellowship award in 2003 from the Institute of Natural Dentistry. In 2012 she was named one of the Top 25 Women in Dentistry and in 2013 was honored by The Commonwealth Institute at their Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts celebration.

Jean is passionate about growing a community of health-conscious people who understand, practice and maintain a joyful and healthy life. She supports whole-body healing practices, local farms, food rights and providing people with a choice for all-natural food. She frequently stands up to oppose injustices in our food supply and distribution system and is actively involved with NOFA (Northeast Organic Farming Association) and the Weston A.
