Flat Rock Brook Nature Center, 443 Van Nostrand Ave., Englewood, NJ 07631
Hubbies, guests and of course the kiddies, are welcome to join in the fun! Here’s a link to their site for more info…http://www.flatrockbrook.org/i
ndex.html We’ll meet by the pond next to the Nature Center parking lot. Then we’ll hike down a relatively easy trail to the playground area, off Jones Rd… http://www.flatrockbrook.org/F
eatures/picnic.html There we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch together. (Please bring a sheet or blanket and pack enough food for you and your family.) After that we’ll explore other well-marked, easy trails in small groups throughout this beautiful nature preserve at our leisure, before heading back to the Nature Center. Inside the Center you’ll see a variety of fish and other wildlife displays. We just can’t be in there all at once or we’d need a group permit. The max is 10 people at a time.
If you’re arriving late and would like to meet us at the playground, the Nature Center address will get you close, but you’ll need to turn onto or be coming in on Jones Rd to find the playground. You’ll be able to see the playground from the road. Parallel parking is available there, although much more parking is available at the Nature Center. Check out a map of the area via the link provided, for a more clear idea of the layout.
**I suggest you bring bug spray and dress everyone in long pants and shirts to protect them from tics, etc.**
