Join Holistic Mom’s Network Ozaukee County as we welcome one of our members, Nicki Steinmetz Nelson, to present on parenting as a spiritual practice.
When we become moms, we often believe that our most important task is to raise our children well. And yet, parenting also offers unique opportunities to raise ourselves into more self-aware, present, and spiritually mature people. Heeding this invitation to pay attention to all of the ways in which parenting challenges us to grow as individuals is actually central to good parenting. As we begin to reconnect our soul to our role as mother, we find that we are better able to navigate the identity shifts that motherhood brings, decrease family stress, and transform our children’s behaviors in a way that actually strengthens our relationship with them.
Nicki Steinmetz Nelson is a trained spiritual director, retreat leader, enneagram coach, holistic health coach, and yoga instructor. She holds a Master’s degree in Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA with concentrations in Social Theory and Ethics and Women’s Studies in Religion. Her passion is supporting women as they engage with the inner work of the spiritual journey and then integrate it with the outward expression of their lives.
